| Some of you may recognize the URL “UserSubmitter.com” as the website that once operated as a “pay-per-digg” service that allowed publishers to promote their content on Digg.com by paying other Digg users to “digg” the submitted article. The site was originally known as “User/Submitter” and billed itself as the place “where Digg submitters pay for Digg users to promote their stories. And, where Digg users make easy money.” While this may have been a creative entrepreneurial effort, the site actually created an artificial marketplace allowing website publishers to see their content rise in the rankings on Digg.com based simply on how much they were willing to spend. And the original UserSubmitter.com site most certainly circumvented the intent and purpose of the Digg.com content sharing community.
As of late 2009, the UserSubmitter.com domain was acquired by a party unaffiliated with the previous owners and operators of the old site that many considered to be, at the least, an unethical business model. Moving forward, we intend the focus of UserSubmitter.com to evolve into a quality resource for the process of website submissions, search engine optimization (SEO), how to submit content and articles, as well as actual user-submitted reviews of web content, products and services. While the ultimate shape and form of our site is not entirely clear as of yet, we anticipate that this will always be something of a “work in progress”. In fact, in order to remain current with all things related to submitting web sites and the business of search engine optimization, submissions and related services, it is mandatory that our site be constantly changing and adapting.
Having been involved in Internet marketing, domain name development and web publishing since the mid 90s, and having submitted our fair share of URLs to the various search engines over the course of more than a decade, we hope that we’ve learned a thing or two about how to submit a domain and how to optimize a website for the search engines. One thing we know for certain is that the time, research and effort necessary to develop and maintain this web site will force us to stay current with latest trends and processes in the ever-changing world of SEO, website submitting and search engine ranking.
